대상23:1  다윗이 나이가 많아 늙으매 아들 솔로몬을 이스라엘 왕으로 삼고
대상23:2  이스라엘 모든 방백과 제사장과 레위 사람을 모았더라
대상23:3  레위 사람은 삼십 세 이상으로 계수하니 모든 남자의 수가 삼만 팔천 명인데
대상23:4  그 중의 이만 사천 명은 여호와의 성전의 일을 보살피는 자요 육천 명은 관원과 재판관이요
대상23:5  사천 명은 문지기요 사천 명은 그가 여호와께 찬송을 드리기 위하여 만든 악기로 찬송하든 자들이라
대상23:6  다윗이 레위의 아들들을 게르손과 그핫과 므라리에 따라 각 반으로 나누었더라
대상23:7  게르손 자손은 라단과 시므이라
대상23:8  라단의 아들들은 우두머리 여히엘과 또 세담과 요엘 세 사람이요
대상23:9  시므이의 아들들은 슬로밋과 하시엘과 하란 세 사람이니 이는 라단의 우두머리들이며
대상23:10  또 시므이의 아들들은 야핫과 시나와 여우스와 브리아이니 이 네 사람도 시므이의 아들이라
대상23:11  그 우두머리는 야핫이요 그다음 시사며 여우스와 브리아는 아들이 많지 아니하므로 그들과 한 조상의 가문으로 계수되었더라
대상23:12  그핫의 아들들은 아므람과 이스할과 헤브론과 웃시엘 네 사람이라
대상23:13  아므람의 아들들은 아론과 모세이니 아론은 그 자손들과 함께 구별되어 몸을 성결하게 하여 영원토록 심히 거룩한 자가 되어 여호와 앞에 분향하고 섬기며 영원토록 그 이름으로 축복하게 되었느니라
대상23:14  하나님의 사람 모세의 아들들은 레위 지파 중에서 기록되었으니
대상23:15  모세의 아들은 게르솜과 엘리에셀이라
대상23:16  게르솜의 아들중에 스브엘이 우두머리가 되었고
대상23:17  엘리에셀의 아들들은 우두머리 르하뱌라 에리에셀에게 이 외에는 다른 아들이 없고 르하뱌의 아들들은 심히 많았으며
대상23:18  이스할의 아들들은 우두머리 슬로밋이요
대상23:19  헤브론의 아들들은 우두머리 여리야와 둘째 아마랴와 셋째 야하시엘과 넷째 여가므암이며
대상23:20  웃시엘의 아들들은 우두머리 미가와 그 다음 잇시야더라
대상23:21  므라리의 아들들은 마흘리와 무시요 마흘리의 아들들은 엘르아살과 기스라
대상23:22  엘르아살이 아들이 없이 죽고 딸만 있더니 그의 형제 기스의 아들이 그에게 장가 들었으며
대상23:23  무시의 아들들은 마흘리와 에델과 여레못 세 사람이더라
대상23:24  이는 다 레위 자손이니 그 조상의 가문을 따라 계수된 이름이 기록되고 여호와의 성전에서 섬기는 일을 하는 이십세 이상 된 우두머리들이라
대상23:25  다윗이 이르기를 이스라엘 하나님 여호와께서 평강을 그의 백성에게 주시고 예루살렘에 영원히 거하시니
대상23:26  레위 사람이 다시는 성막과 그 가운데에서 쓰는 모든 기구를 멜 필요가 없다 한지라
대상23:27  다윗의 유언대로 레위 자손이 이십 세 이상으로 계수되었으니
대상23:28  그 직분은 아론의 자손을 도와 여호와의 성전과 뜰과 골방에서 섬기고 또 모든 성물을 정결하게 하는 일 곧 하나님의 성전에서 섬기는 일과
대상23:29  또 진설병과 고운 가루의 소제물 곧 무교전병이나 과자를 굽는 것이나 반죽하는 것이나 또 모든 저울과 자를 맡고
대상23:30  아침과 저녁마다 서서 여호와께 감사하고 찬송하며
대상23:31  또 안식일과 초하루와 절기에 모든 번제를 여호와께 드리되 그가 명령하신 규례의 정한 수효대로 항상 여호와 앞에 드리며
대상23:32  또 회막의 직무와 성소의 직무와 그들의 형제 아론 자손의 직무를 지켜 여호와의 성전에서 수종드는 것이더라
베드로전서 4 장.
벧전4:1  그리스도께서 이미 육체에 고난을 받으셨으니 너희도 같은 마음으로 갑옷을 삼으라 이는 육체의 고난을 받은 자는 죄를 그쳤음이니
벧전4:2  그 후로는 다시 사람의 정욕을 따르지 않고 하나님의 뜻을 따라 육체의 남은 때를 살게 하려 함이라
벧전4:3  너희가 음란과 정욕과 술취함과 방탕과 향락과 무법한 우상 숭배를 하여 이방인의 뜻을 따라 행한 것은 지나간 때로 족하도다
벧전4:4  이러므로 너희가 그들과 함께 그런 극한 방탕에 달음질하지 아니하는 것을 그들이 이상히 여겨 비방하나
벧전4:5  그들이 산 자와 죽은 자를 심판하기로 예비하신 이에게 사실대로 고하리라
벧전4:6  이를 위하여 죽은 자들에게도 복음이 전파되었으니 이는 육체로는 사람으로 심판을 받으나 영으로는 하나님을 따라 살게 하려 함이라
벧전4:7  만물의 마지막이 가까이 왔으니 그러므로 너희는 정신을 차리고 근신하여 기도하라
벧전4:8  무엇보다도 뜨겁게 서로 사랑할지니 사랑은 허다한 죄를 덮느니라
벧전4:9  서로 대접하기를 원망 없이 하고
벧전4:10  각각 은사를 받은 대로 하나님의 여러 가지 은혜를 맡은 선한 청지기 같이 서로 봉사하라
벧전4:11  만일 누가 말하려면 하나님의 말씀을 하는 것 같이 하고 누가 봉사하려면 하나님이 공급하시는 힘으로 하는 것 같이 하라 이는 범사에 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님이 영광을 받으시게 하려 함이니 그에게 영광과 권능이 세세에 무궁하도록 있느니라 아멘
벧전4:12  사랑하는 자들아 너희를 연단 하려고 오는 불 시험을 이상한 일 당하는 것 같이 이상히 여기지 말고
벧전4:13  오히려 너희가 그리스도의 고난에 참여하는 것으로 즐거워하라 이는 그의 영광을 나타내실 때에 너희로 즐거워하고 기뻐하게 하려 함이라
벧전4:14  너희가 그리스도의 이름으로 치욕을 당하면 복 있는 자로다 영광의 영 곧 하나님의 영이 너희 위에 계심이라
벧전4:15  너희 중에 누구든지 살인이나 도둑질이나 악행이나 남의 일을 간섭하는 자로 고난을 받지 말려니와
벧전4:16  만일 그리스도인으로 고난을 받으면 부끄러워 말고 도리어 그 이름으로 하나님께 영광을 돌리라
벧전4:17  하나님의 집에서 심판을 시작할 때가 되었나니 만일 우리에게 먼저 하면 하나님의 복음을 순종하지 아니하는 자들의 그 마지막은 어떠하며
벧전4:18  또 의인이 겨우 구원을 받으면 경건치 아니한 자와 죄인은 어디에 서리요
벧전4:19  그러므로 하나님의 뜻대로 고난을 받는 자들은 또한 선을 행하는 가운데에 그 영혼을 미쁘신 창조주께 의탁할지어다
미가 2 장.
미2:1  그들이 침상에서 죄를 꾀하며 악을 꾸미고 날이 밝으면 그 손에 힘이 있으므로 그것을 행하는 자는 화 있을진저
미2:2  밭들을 탐하여 빼앗고 집들을 탐하여 차지하니 그들이 남자와 그의 집과 사람과 그의 산업을 강탈하도다
미2:3  그러므로 여호와의 말씀에 내가 이 족속에게 재앙을 계획하나니 너희의 목이 이에서 벗어나지 못 할 것이요 또한 교만하게 다니지 못할 것이라 이는 재앙의 때임이라 하셨느니라
미2:4  그 때에 너희를 조롱하는 시를 지으며 슬픈 노래를 불러 이르기를 우리가 온전히 망하게 되었도다 그가 내 백성의 산업을 옮겨 내게서 떠나게 하시며 우리 밭을 나누어 패역자에게  주시는도다 하리니
미2:5  그러므로 여호와의 회중에서 분깃에 줄을 댈 자가 너희 중에 하나도 없으리라
미2:6  그들이 말하기를 너희는 예언하지 말라 이것은 예언할 것이 아니거늘 욕하는 말을 그치지 아니한다 하는도다
미2:7  너희 야곱의 족속아 어찌 이르기를 여호와의 영이 성급하시다 하겠느냐 그의 행위가 이러하시다 하겠느냐 나의 말이 정직하게 행하는 자에게 유익하지 아니하냐
미2:8  근래에 내 백성이 원수 같이 일어나서 전쟁을 피하여 평안히 지나가는 자들의 의복에서 겉옷을 벗기며
미2:9  내 백성의 부녀들을 그들의 즐거운 집에서 쫓아내고 그들의 어린 자녀에게서 나의 영광을 영원히 빼앗는도다
미2:10  이것은 너희가 쉴 곳이 아니니 일어나 떠날지어다 이는 그것이 이미 더러워졌음이니라 그런즉 반드시 멸하리니 그 멸망이 크리라
미2:11  사람이 만일 허망하게 행하며 거짓말로 이르기를 내가 포도주와 독주에 대하여 네게 예언하리라 할 것 같으면 그 사람이 이 백성의 선지자가 되리로다
미2:12  야곱아 내가 반드시 너희 무리를 다 모으며 내가 반드시 이스라엘의 남은 자를 모으고 그들을 한 처소에 두기를 보스라의 양 떼 같이 하며 초장의 양 떼 같이 하리니 사람들이 크게 떠들 것이며
미2:13  길을 여는 자가 그들 앞에 올라가고 그들은 길을 열어 성문에 이르러서는 그리로 나갈 것이며 그들의 왕이 앞서 가며 여호와께서는 선두로 가시리라 하시니라
누가복음 11 장.
눅11:1  예수께서 한 곳에서 기도하시고 마치시매 제자 중 하나가 여짜오되 주여 요한이 자기 제자들에게 기도를 가르친 것과 같이 우리에게도 가르쳐 주옵소서
눅11:2  예수께서 이르시되 너희는 기도할 때에 이렇게 하라 아버지여 이름이 거룩히 여김을 받으시오며 나라가 임하옵시며
눅11:3  우리에게 날마다 일용할 양식을 주시옵고
눅11:4  우리가 우리에게 죄 지은 모든 사람을 용서하오니 우리 죄도 사하여 주시옵고 우리를 시험에 들게 하지 마옵소서 하라
눅11:5  또 이르시되 너희 중에 누가 벗이 있는데 밤중에 그에게 가서 말하기를 벗이여 떡 세 덩이를 내게 꾸어달라
눅11:6  내 벗이 여행 중에 내게 왔으나 내가 먹일 것이 없노라 하면
눅11:7  그가 안에서 대답하여 이르되 나를 괴롭게 하지 말라 문이 이미 닫혔고 아이들이 나와 함께  침실에 누웠으니 일어나 네게 줄 수가 없노라 하겠느냐
눅11:8  내가 너희에게 말하노니 비록 벗됨으로 인하여서는 일어나 주지 아니할지라도 그 간청함을 인하여 일어나 그 요구대로 주리라
눅11:9  내가 또 너희에게 이르노니 구하라 그러면 너희에게 주실 것이요 찾으라 그러면 찾아낼 것이요 문을 두드리라 그러면 너희에게 열릴 것이니
눅11:10  구하는 이마다 받을 것이요 찾는 이는 찾아낼 것이요 두드리는 이에게는 열릴 것이니라
눅11:11  너희 중에 아버지된 자로서 누가 아들이 생선을 달라 하는데 생선 대신에 뱀을 주며
눅11:12  알을 달라 하는데 전갈을 주겠느냐
눅11:13  너희가 악할지라도 좋은 것을 자식에게 줄 줄 알거든 하물며 너희 하늘 아버지께서 구하는 자에게 성령을 주시지 않겠느냐 하시니라
눅11:14  예수께서 한 말 못하는 귀신을 쫓아내시니 귀신이 나가매 말 못하는 사람이 말하는지라 무리들이 놀랍게 여겼으나
눅11:15  그 중에 더러는 말하기를 그가 귀신의 왕 바알세불을 힘입어 귀신을 쫓아낸다 하고
눅11:16  또 더러는 예수를 시험하여 하늘로부터 오는 표적을 구하니
눅11:17  예수께서 그들의 생각을 아시고 이르시되 스스로 분쟁하는 나라마다 황폐하여지며 스스로 분쟁하는 집은 무너지느니라
눅11:18  너희 말이 내가 바알세불을 힘입어 귀신을 쫓아낸다 하니 만일 사탄이 스스로 분쟁하면 그의 나라가 어떻게 서겠느냐
눅11:19  내가 바알세불을 힘입어 귀신을 쫓아내면 너희 아들들은 누구를 힘입어 쫓아내느냐 그러므로 그들이 너희 재판관이 되리라
눅11:20  그러나 내가 만일 하나님의 손을 힘입어 귀신을 쫓아낸다면 하나님의 나라가 이미 너희에게 임하였느니라
눅11:21  강한 자가 무장을 하고 자기 집을 지킬 때에는 그 소유가 안전하되
눅11:22  더 강한 자가 와서 그를 굴복시킬 때에는 그가 믿던 무장을 빼앗고 그의 재물을 나누느니라
눅11:23  나와 함께 아니하는 자는 나를 반대하는 자요 나와 함께 모으지 아니하는 자는 헤치는 자니라
눅11:24  더러운 귀신이 사람에게서 나갔을 때에 물 없는 곳으로 다니며 쉬기를 구하되 얻지 못하고 이에 이르되 내가 나온 내 집으로 돌아가리라 하고
눅11:25  가서 보니 그 집이 청소되고 수리되었거늘
눅11:26  이에 가서 저보다 더 악한 귀신 일곱을 데리고 들어가서 거하니 그 사람의 나중 형편이 전보다 더 심하게 되느니라
눅11:27  이 말씀을 하실 때에 무리 중에서 한 여자가 음성을 높여 이르되 당신을 밴 태와 당신을 먹인 젖이 복이 있나이다 하니
눅11:28  예수께서 이르시되 오히려 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 지키는 자가 복이 있느니라 하시니라
눅11:29  무리가 모였을 때에 예수께서 말씀하시되 이 세대는 악한 세대라 표적을 구하되 요나의 표적밖에는 보일 표적이 없나니
눅11:30  요나가 니느웨 사람들에게 표적이 됨과 같이 인자도 이 세대에 그러하리라
눅11:31  심판 때에 남방 여왕이 일어나 이 세대 사람을 정죄하리니 이는 그가 솔로몬의 지혜로운 말을 들으려고 땅 끝에서 왔음이거니와  솔로몬보다 더 큰 이가 여기 있으며
눅11:32  심판 때에 니느웨 사람들이 일어나 이 세대 사람을 정죄하리니 이는 그들이 요나의 전도를 듣고 회개하였음이거니와 요나보다 더 큰 이가 여기 있느니라
눅11:33  누구든지 등불을 켜서 움 속에나 말 아래에 두지 아니하고 등경 위에 두나니 이는 들어가는 자로 그 빛을 보게 하려 함이라
눅11:34  네 몸의 등불은 눈이라 네 눈이 성하면 온 몸이 밝을 것이요 만일 나쁘면 네 몸도 어두우리라
눅11:35  그러므로 네 속에 있는 빛이 어둡지 아니한가 보라
눅11:36  네 온 몸이 밝아 조금도 어두운 데가 없으면 등불의 빛이 너를 비출 때와 같이 온전히 밝으리라 하시니라
눅11:37  예수께서 말씀하실 때에 한 바리새인이 자기와 함께 점심 잡수시기를 청하므로 들어가 앉으셨더니
눅11:38  잡수시기 전에 손 씻지 아니하심을 이 바리새인이 보고 이상히 여기는지라
눅11:39  주께서 이르시되 너희 바리새인은 지금 잔과 대접의 겉은 깨끗이 하나 너희 속에는 탐욕과 악독이 가득하도다
눅11:40  어리석은 자들아 밖을 만드신 이가 속도 만들지 아니하셨느냐
눅11:41  그러나 그 안에 있는 것으로 구제하라 그리하면 모든 것이 너희에게 깨끗하리라
눅11:42  화 있을진저 너희 바리새인이여 너희가 박하와 운향과 모든 채소의 십일조는 드리되 공의와 하나님께 대한 사랑은 버리는도다 그러나 이것도 행하고 저것도 버리지 말아야 할지니라
눅11:43  화 있을진저 너희 바리새인이여 너희가 회당의 높은 자리와 시장에서 문안 받는 것을 기뻐하는도다
눅11:44  화 있을진저 너희여 너희는 평토장한 무덤 같아서 그 위를 밟는 사람이 알지 못하느니라
눅11:45  한 율법교사가 예수께 대답하여 이르되 선생님 이렇게 말씀하시니 우리까지 모욕하심이니이다
눅11:46  이르시되 화 있을진저 또 너희 율법교사여 지기 어려운 짐을 사람에게 지우고 너희는 한 손가락도 이 짐에 대지 않는도다
눅11:47  화 있을진저 너희는 선지자들의 무덤을 만드는도다 그들을 죽인 자도 너희 조상들이로다
눅11:48  이와 같이 그들은 죽이고 너희는 무덤을 만드니 너희가 너희 조상의 행한 일에 증인이 되어 옳게 여기는도다
눅11:49  이러므로 하나님의 지혜가 일렀으되 내가 선지자와 사도들을 그들에게 보내리니 그 중에서 더러는 죽이며 또 박해하리라 하였느니라
눅11:50  창세 이후로 흘린 모든 선지자의 피를 이 세대가 담당하되
눅11:51  곧 아벨의 피로부터 제단과 성전 사이에서 죽임을 당한 사가랴의 피까지 하리라 내가 너희에게 이르노니 과연 이 세대가 담당하리라
눅11:52  화 있을진저 너희 율법교사여 너희가 지식의 열쇠를 가져가서 너희도 들어가지 않고 또 들어가고자 하는 자도 막았느니라 하시니라
눅11:53  거기서 나오실 때에 서기관과 바리새인들이 거세게 달려들어 여러 가지 일을 따져 묻고
눅11:54  그 입에서 나오는 말을 책잡고자 하여 노리고있더라

1 Chronicles 23.
23:1 These were the divisions of the sons of Aaron: The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
23:2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father did, and they had no sons; so Eleazar and Ithamar served as the priests.
23:3 With the help of Zadok a descendant of Eleazar and Ahimelech a descendant of Ithamar, David separated them into divisions for their appointed order of ministering.
23:4 A larger number of leaders were found among Eleazar's descendants than among Ithamar's, and they were divided accordingly: sixteen heads of families from Eleazar's descendants and eight heads of families from Ithamar's descendants.
23:5 They divided them impartially by drawing lots, for there were officials of the sanctuary and officials of God among the descendants of both Eleazar and Ithamar.
23:6 The scribe Shemaiah son of Nethanel, a Levite, recorded their names in the presence of the king and of the officials: Zadok the priest, Ahimelech son of Abiathar and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites--one family being taken from Eleazar and then one from Ithamar.
23:7 The first lot fell to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,
23:8 the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
23:9 the fifth to Malkijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
23:10 the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
23:11 the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
23:12 the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
23:13 the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,
23:14 the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,
23:15 the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Happizzez,
23:16 the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel,
23:17 the twenty-first to Jakin, the twenty-second to Gamul,
23:18 the twenty-third to Delaiah and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.
23:19 This was their appointed order of ministering when they entered the temple of the LORD, according to the regulations prescribed for them by their forefather Aaron, as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded him.
23:20 As for the rest of the descendants of Levi: from the sons of Amram: Shubael; from the sons of Shubael: Jehdeiah.
23:21 As for Rehabiah, from his sons: Isshiah was the first.
23:22 From the Izharites: Shelomoth; from the sons of Shelomoth: Jahath.
23:23 The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third and Jekameam the fourth.
23:24 The son of Uzziel: Micah; from the sons of Micah: Shamir.
23:25 The brother of Micah: Isshiah; from the sons of Isshiah: Zechariah.
23:26 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The son of Jaaziah: Beno.
23:27 The sons of Merari: from Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zaccur and Ibri.
23:28 From Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.
23:29 From Kish: the son of Kish: Jerahmeel.
23:30 And the sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder and Jerimoth. These were the Levites, according to their families.
23:31 They also cast lots, just as their brothers the descendants of Aaron did, in the presence of King David and of Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites. The families of the oldest brother were treated the same as those of the youngest.
1 Peter 4.
4:1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin.
4:2 As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.
4:3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do--living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.
4:4 They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you.
4:5 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
4:6 For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to men in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.
4:7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.
4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
4:9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
4:10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.
4:11 If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
4:12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.
4:13 But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
4:14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
4:15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.
4:16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.
4:17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
4:18 And, "If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"
4:19 So then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
Micah 2.
2:1 Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning's light they carry it out because it is in their power to do it.
2:2 They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and take them. They defraud a man of his home, a fellowman of his inheritance.
2:3 Therefore, the LORD says: "I am planning disaster against this people, from which you cannot save yourselves. You will no longer walk proudly, for it will be a time of calamity.
2:4 In that day men will ridicule you; they will taunt you with this mournful song: 'We are utterly ruined; my people's possession is divided up. He takes it from me! He assigns our fields to traitors.'"
2:5 Therefore you will have no one in the assembly of the LORD to divide the land by lot.
2:6 "Do not prophesy," their prophets say. "Do not prophesy about these things; disgrace will not overtake us."
2:7 Should it be said, O house of Jacob: "Is the Spirit of the LORD angry? Does he do such things?" "Do not my words do good to him whose ways are upright?
2:8 Lately my people have risen up like an enemy. You strip off the rich robe from those who pass by without a care, like men returning from battle.
2:9 You drive the women of my people from their pleasant homes. You take away my blessing from their children forever.
2:10 Get up, go away! For this is not your resting place, because it is defiled, it is ruined, beyond all remedy.
2:11 If a liar and deceiver comes and says, 'I will prophesy for you plenty of wine and beer,' he would be just the prophet for this people!
2:12 "I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob; I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel. I will bring them together like sheep in a pen, like a flock in its pasture; the place will throng with people.
2:13 One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their king will pass through before them, the LORD at their head."
Luke 11.
11:1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."
11:2 He said to them, "When you pray, say: "'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
11:3 Give us each day our daily bread.
11:4 Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.'"
11:5 Then he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
11:6 because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.'
11:7 "Then the one inside answers, 'Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.'
11:8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
11:9 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
11:10 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
11:11 "Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?
11:12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
11:13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
11:14 Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed.
11:15 But some of them said, "By Beelzebub, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons."
11:16 Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven.
11:17 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: "Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.
11:18 If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebub.
11:19 Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.
11:20 But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.
11:21 "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe.
11:22 But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up the spoils.
11:23 "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.
11:24 "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.'
11:25 When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order.
11:26 Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first."
11:27 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you."
11:28 He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."
11:29 As the crowds increased, Jesus said, "This is a wicked generation. It asks for a miraculous sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.
11:30 For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation.
11:31 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon's wisdom, and now one greater than Solomon is here.
11:32 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here.
11:33 "No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.
11:34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness.
11:35 See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.
11:36 Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."
11:37 When Jesus had finished speaking, a Pharisee invited him to eat with him; so he went in and reclined at the table.
11:38 But the Pharisee, noticing that Jesus did not first wash before the meal, was surprised.
11:39 Then the Lord said to him, "Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.
11:40 You foolish people! Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also?
11:41 But give what is inside the dish to the poor, and everything will be clean for you.
11:42 "Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone.
11:43 "Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the most important seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.
11:44 "Woe to you, because you are like unmarked graves, which men walk over without knowing it."
11:45 One of the experts in the law answered him, "Teacher, when you say these things, you insult us also."
11:46 Jesus replied, "And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them.
11:47 "Woe to you, because you build tombs for the prophets, and it was your forefathers who killed them.
11:48 So you testify that you approve of what your forefathers did; they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.
11:49 Because of this, God in his wisdom said, 'I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and others they will persecute.'
11:50 Therefore this generation will be held responsible for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world,
11:51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, this generation will be held responsible for it all.
11:52 "Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering."
11:53 When Jesus left there, the Pharisees and the teachers of the law began to oppose him fiercely and to besiege him with questions,
11:54 waiting to catch him in something he might say.
