Isaiah 21

사21:1 해변 광야에 관한 경고라 적병이 광야에서, 두려운 땅에서 네겝 회오리바람 같이 몰려왔도다

An oracle concerning the Desert by the Sea: Like whirlwinds sweeping through the southland, an invader comes from the desert, from a land of terror.

사21:2 혹독한 묵시가 내게 보였도다 속이는 자는 속이고 약탈하는 자는 약탈하도다 엘람이여 올라가고 메대여 에워싸라 그의 모든 탄식을 내가 그치게 하였노라 하시도다

A dire vision has been shown to me: The traitor betrays, the looter takes loot. Elam, attack! Media, lay siege! I will bring to an end all the groaning she caused.

사21:3 이러므로 나의 요통이 심하여 해산이 임박한 여인의 고통 같은 고통이 나를 엄습하였으므로 내가 괴로워서 듣지 못하며 놀라서 보지 못하도다

At this my body is racked with pain, pangs seize me, like those of a woman in labor; I am staggered by what I hear, I am bewildered by what I see.

사21:4 내 마음이 어지럽고 두려움이 나를 놀라게 하며 희망의 서광이 변하여 내게 떨림이 되도다

My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me.

사21:5 그들이 식탁을 베풀고 파수꾼을 세우고 먹고 마시도다 너희 고관들아 일어나 방패에 기름을 바를지어다

They set the tables, they spread the rugs, they eat, they drink! Get up, you officers, oil the shields!

사21:6 주께서 내게 이르시되 가서 파수꾼을 세우고 그가 보는 것을 고하게 하되

This is what the Lord says to me: "Go, post a lookout and have him report what he sees.

사21:7 마병대가 쌍쌍이 오는 것과 나귀 떼와 낙타 떼를 보거든 귀를 귀울여 자세히 들으라 하셨더니

When he sees chariots with teams of horses, riders on donkeys or riders on camels, let him be alert, fully alert."

사21:8 파수꾼이 사자 같이 부르짖기를 주여 내가 낮에 늘 망대에 서 있었고 밤이 새도록 파수하는 곳에 있었더니

And the lookout shouted, "Day after day, my lord, I stand on the watchtower; every night I stay at my post.

사21:9 보소서 마병대가 쌍쌍이 오나이다 하니 그가 대답하여 이르시되 함락되었도다 함락되었도다 바벨론이여 그들이 조각한 신상들이 다 부서져 땅에 떨어졌도다 하시도다

Look, here comes a man in a chariot with a team of horses. And he gives back the answer: 'Babylon has fallen, has fallen! All the images of its gods lie shattered on the ground!'"

사21:10 내가 짓밝은 너여, 내가 타작한 너여, 내가 이스라엘의 하나님 만군의 여호와께 들은 대로 너희에게 전하였노라

O my people, crushed on the threshing floor, I tell you what I have heard from the LORD Almighty, from the God of Israel.

사21:11 두마에 관한 경고라 사람이 세일에서 나를 부르되 파수꾼이여 밤이 어떻게 되었느냐 파수꾼이여 밤이 어떻게 되었느냐

An oracle concerning Dumah: Someone calls to me from Seir, "Watchman, what is left of the night? Watchman, what is left of the night?"

사21:12 파수꾼이 이르되 아침이 오나니 밤도 오리라 네가 물으려거든 물으라 너희는 돌아올지니라 하더라

The watchman replies, "Morning is coming, but also the night. If you would ask, then ask; and come back yet again."

사21:13 아라비아에 관한 경고라 드단 대상이여 너희가 아라비아 수풀에서 유숙하리라

An oracle concerning Arabia: You caravans of Dedanites, who camp in the thickets of Arabia,

사21:14 데마 땅의 주민들아 물을 가져다가 목마른 자에게 주고 떡을 가지고 도피하는 자를 영접하라

bring water for the thirsty; you who live in Tema, bring food for the fugitives.

사21:15 그들이 칼날을 피하며 뺀 칼과 당긴 활과 전쟁의 어려움에서 도망하였음이니라

They flee from the sword, from the drawn sword, from the bent bow and from the heat of battle.

사21:16 주께서 이같이 내게 이르시되 품꾼의 정한 기한 같이 일 년 내에 게달의 영광이 다 쇠멸하리니

This is what the Lord says to me: "Within one year, as a servant bound by contract would count it, all the pomp of Kedar will come to an end.

사21:17 게달 자손 중 활 가진 용사의 남은 수가 적으리라 하시니라 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와의 말씀이니라

The survivors of the bowmen, the warriors of Kedar, will be few." The LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.

Isaiah 22

사22:1 환상의 골짜기에 관한 경고라 네가 지붕에 올라감은 어찌함인고

An oracle concerning the Valley of Vision: What troubles you now, that you have all gone up on the roofs,

사22:2 소란하며 떠들던 성, 즐거워하던 고을이여 너의 죽임을 당한 자들은 칼에 죽은 것도 아니요 전쟁에 사망한 것도 아니라

O town full of commotion, O city of tumult and revelry? Your slain were not killed by the sword, nor did they die in battle.

사22:3 너의 관원들도 다 함께 도망하였다가 활을 버리고 결박을 당하였고 너의 멀리 도망한 자들도 발견되어 다 함께 결박을 당하였도다

All your leaders have fled together; they have been captured without using the bow. All you who were caught were taken prisoner together, having fled while the enemy was still far away.

사22:4 그러므로 내가 말하노니 돌이켜 나를 보지 말지어다 나는 슬피 통곡하겠노라 내 딸 백성이 패망하였음으로 말미암아 나를 위로하려고 힘쓰지 말지니라

Therefore I said, "Turn away from me; let me weep bitterly. Do not try to console me over the destruction of my people."

사22:5 환상의 골짜기에 주 만군의 여호와께로부터 이르는 소란과 밟힘과 혼란의 날이여 성벽의 무너뜨림과 산악에 사무쳐 부르짖는 소리로다

The Lord, the LORD Almighty, has a day of tumult and trampling and terror in the Valley of Vision, a day of battering down walls and of crying out to the mountains.

사22:6 엘람 사람은 화살통을 메었고 병거 탄 자와 마병이 함께 하였고 기르 사람은 방패를 드어냈으니

Elam takes up the quiver, with her charioteers and horses; Kir uncovers the shield.

사22:7 병거는 네 아름다운 골짜기에 가득하였고 마병은 성문에 정렬되었도다

Your choicest valleys are full of chariots, and horsemen are posted at the city gates;

사22:8 그가 유다에게 덮였던 것을 벗기매 그 날에야 네가 수풀 곳간의 병기를 바라보았고

the defenses of Judah are stripped away. And you looked in that day to the weapons in the Palace of the Forest;

사22:9 너희가 다윗 성의 무너진 곳이 많은 것도 보며 너희가 아랫못의 물도 모으며

you saw that the City of David had many breaches in its defenses; you stored up water in the Lower Pool.

사22:10 또 예루살렘의 가옥을 계수하며 그 가옥을 헐어 성벽을 견고하게도 하며

You counted the buildings in Jerusalem and tore down houses to strengthen the wall.

사22:11 너희가 또 옛 못의 물을 위하여 두 성벽 사이에 저수지를 만들었느니라 그러나 너희가 이를 행하신 이를 앙망하지 아니하였고 이 일을 옛적부터 경영하신 이를 공경하지 아니하였느니라

You built a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or have regard for the One who planned it long ago.

사22:12 그 날에 주 만군의 여호와께서 명령하사 통곡하며 애곡하며 머리털을 뜯으며 굵은 베를 띠라 하셨거늘

The Lord, the LORD Almighty, called you on that day to weep and to wail, to tear out your hair and put on sackcloth.

사22:13 너희가 기뻐하며 즐거워하여 소를 잡고 양을 잡아 고기를 먹고 포도주를 마시면서 내일 죽으리니 먹고 마시자 하는도다

But see, there is joy and revelry, slaughtering of cattle and killing of sheep, eating of meat and drinking of wine! "Let us eat and drink," you say, "for tomorrow we die!"

사22:14 만군의 여호와께서 친히 내 귀에 들려 이르시되 진실로 이 죄악은 너희가 죽기까지 용서하지 못하리라 하셨느니라 주 만군의 여호와의 말씀이니라

The LORD Almighty has revealed this in my hearing: "Till your dying day this sin will not be atoned for," says the Lord, the LORD Almighty.

사22:15 주 만군의 여호와께서 이르시되 너는 가서 그의 국고를 맡고 왕궁을 맡은 자 셉나를 보고 이르기를

This is what the Lord, the LORD Almighty, says: "Go, say to this steward, to Shebna, who is in charge of the palace:

사22:16 네가 여기와 무슨 관계가 있느냐 여기에 누가 있기에 여기서 너를 위하여 묘실을 팠느냐 높은 곳에 자기를 위하여 묘실을 팠고 반석에 자기를 위하여 처소를 쪼아 내었도다

What are you doing here and who gave you permission to cut out a grave for yourself here, hewing your grave on the height and chiseling your resting place in the rock?

사22:17 나 여호와가 너를 단단히 결박하고 장사 같이 세게 던지되

"Beware, the LORD is about to take firm hold of you and hurl you away, O you mighty man.

사22:18 반드시 너를 모질게 감싸서 공 같이 광막한 곳에 던질 것이라 주인의 집에 수치를 끼치는 너여 네가 그 곳에서 죽겠고 네 영광의 수레도 거기에 있으리라

He will roll you up tightly like a ball and throw you into a large country. There you will die and there your splendid chariots will remain--you disgrace to your master's house!

사22:19 내가 너를 네 관직에서 쫓아내며 네 지위에서 낮추리니

I will depose you from your office, and you will be ousted from your position.

사22:20 그 날에 내가 힐기야의 아들 내 종 엘리아김을 불러

"In that day I will summon my servant, Eliakim son of Hilkiah.

사22:21 네 옷을 그에게 입히며 네 띠를 그에게 띠워 힘있게 하고 네 정권을 그의 손에 맡기리니 그가 예루살렘 주민과 유다의 집의 아버지가 될 것이며

I will clothe him with your robe and fasten your sash around him and hand your authority over to him. He will be a father to those who live in Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.

사22:22 내가 또 다윗 집의 열쇠를 그의 어깨에 두리니 그가 열면 닫을 자가 없겠고 닫으면 열 자가 없으리라

I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

사22:23 못이 단단한 곳에 박힘 같이 그를 견고하게 하리니 그가 그의 아버지 집에 영광의 보좌가 될 것이요

I will drive him like a peg into a firm place; he will be a seat of honor for the house of his father.

사22:24 그의 아버지 집의 모든 영광이 그 위에 걸리리니 그의 후손과 족속 되는 각 작은 그릇 곧 종지로부터 모든 항아리까지리라

All the glory of his family will hang on him: its offspring and offshoots--all its lesser vessels, from the bowls to all the jars.

사22:25 만군의 여호와께서 이르시되 그 날에는 단단한 곳에 박혔던 못이 삭으리니 그의 못이 부러져 떨어지므로 그 위에 걸린 물건이 부서지리라 하셨다 하라 나 여호와의 말이니라

"In that day," declares the LORD Almighty, "the peg driven into the firm place will give way; it will be sheared off and will fall, and the load hanging on it will be cut down." The LORD has spoken.

사23:1 두로에 관한 경고라 다시스의 배들아 너희는 슬피 부르짖을지어다 두로가 황무하여 집이 없고 들어갈 곳도 없음이요 이 소식이 깃딤 땅에서부터 그들에게 전파되었음이라

An oracle concerning Tyre: Wail, O ships of Tarshish! For Tyre is destroyed and left without house or harbor. From the land of Cyprus word has come to them.

사23:2 바다에 왕래하는 시돈 상인들로 말미암아 부요하게 된 너희 해변 주민들아 잠잠하라

Be silent, you people of the island and you merchants of Sidon, whom the seafarers have enriched.

사23:3 시홀의 곡식 곧 나일의 추수를 큰 물로 수송하여 들였으니 열국의 시장이 되었도다

On the great waters came the grain of the Shihor; the harvest of the Nile was the revenue of Tyre, and she became the marketplace of the nations.

사23:4 시돈이여 너는 부끄러워할지어다 대저 바다 곧 바다의 요새가 말하기를 나는 산고를 겪지 못하였으며 출산하지 못하였으며 청년들을 양육하지도 못하였으며 처녀들을 생육지도 못하였다 하였음이라

Be ashamed, O Sidon, and you, O fortress of the sea, for the sea has spoken: "I have neither been in labor nor given birth; I have neither reared sons nor brought up daughters."

사23:5 그 소식이 애굽에 이르면 그들이 두로의 소식으로 말미암아 고통 받으리로다

When word comes to Egypt, they will be in anguish at the report from Tyre.

사23:6 너희는 다시스로 건너갈지어다 해변 주민아 너희는 슬피 부르짖을지어다

Cross over to Tarshish; wail, you people of the island.

사23:7 이것이 옛날에 건설된 너희 희락의 성 곧 그 백성이 자기 발로 먼 지방까지 가서 머물던 성읍이냐

Is this your city of revelry, the old, old city, whose feet have taken her to settle in far-off lands?

사23:8 면류관을 씌우던 자요 그 상인들은 고관들이요 그 무역자들은 세상에 존귀한 자들이었던 두로에 대하여 누가 이 일을 정하였느냐

Who planned this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose merchants are princes, whose traders are renowned in the earth?

사23:9 만군의 여호와께서 그것을 정하신 것이라 모든 누리던 영화를 욕되게 하시며 세상의 모든 교만하던 자가 멸시를 받게 하려 하심이라

The LORD Almighty planned it, to bring low the pride of all glory and to humble all who are renowned on the earth.

사23:10 딸 다시스여 나일 같이 너희 땅에 넘칠지어다 너를 속박함이 다시는 없으리라

Till your land as along the Nile, O Daughter of Tarshish, for you no longer have a harbor.

사23:11 여호와께서 바다 위에 그의 손을 펴사 열방을 흔드시며 여호와께서 가나안에 대하여 명을 내려 그의 견고한 성들을 무너뜨리게 하시고

The LORD has stretched out his hand over the sea and made its kingdoms tremble. He has given an order concerning Phoenicia that her fortresses be destroyed.

사23:12 이르시되 너 학대받은 처녀 딸 시돈아 네게 다시는 희락이 없으리니 일어나 깃딤으로 건너가라 거기에서도 네가 평안을 얻지 못하리라 하셨느니라

He said, "No more of your reveling, O Virgin Daughter of Sidon, now crushed! "Up, cross over to Cyprus; even there you will find no rest."

사23:13 갈대아 사람의 땅을 보라 그 백성이 없어졌나니 곧 앗수르 사람이 그 곳을 들짐승이 사는 곳이 되게 하였으되 그들이 망대를 세우고 궁전을 헐어 황무하게 하였느니라

Look at the land of the Babylonians, this people that is now of no account! The Assyrians have made it a place for desert creatures; they raised up their siege towers, they stripped its fortresses bare and turned it into a ruin.

사23:14 다시스의 배들아 너희는 슬피 부르짖으라 너희의 견고한 성이 파괴되었느니라

Wail, you ships of Tarshish; your fortress is destroyed!

사23:15 그 날부터 두로가 한 왕의 연한 같이 칠십 년 동안 잊어버린 바 되었다가 칠십 년이 찬 후에 두로는 기생의 노래 같이 될 것이라

At that time Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years, the span of a king's life. But at the end of these seventy years, it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the prostitute:

사23:16 잊어버린 바 되었던 너 음녀여 수금을 가지고 성읍에 두루 다니며 기묘한 곡조로 많은 노래를 불러서 너를 다시 기억하게 하라 하였느니라

"Take up a harp, walk through the city, O prostitute forgotten; play the harp well, sing many a song, so that you will be remembered."

사23:17 칠십 년이 찬 후에 여호와께서 두로를 돌보시리니 그가 다시 값을 받고 지면에 있는 열방과 음란을 행할 것이며

At the end of seventy years, the LORD will deal with Tyre. She will return to her hire as a prostitute and will ply her trade with all the kingdoms on the face of the earth.

사23:18 그 무역한 것과 이익을 거룩히 여호와께 돌리고 간직하거나 쌓아 두지 아니하리니 그 무역한 것이 여호와 앞에 사는 자가 배불리 먹을 양식, 잘 입을 옷감이 되리라

Yet her profit and her earnings will be set apart for the LORD; they will not be stored up or hoarded. Her profits will go to those who live before the LORD, for abundant food and fine clothes.
