Isaiah 27

사27:1 그 날에 여호와께서 그의 견고하고 크고 강한 칼로 날랜 뱀 리워야단 곧 꼬불꼬불한 뱀 리워야단을 벌하시며 바다에 있는 용을 죽이시리라

In that day, the LORD will punish with his sword, his fierce, great and powerful sword, Leviathan the gliding serpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will slay the monster of the sea.

사27:2 그 날에 너희는 아름다운 포도원을 두고 노래를 부를지어다

In that day-- "Sing about a fruitful vineyard:

사27:3 나 여호와는 포도원지기가 됨이여 때때로 물을 주며 밤낮으로 간수하여 아무든지 이를 해치지 못하게 하리로다

I, the LORD, watch over it; I water it continually. I guard it day and night so that no one may harm it.

사27:4 나는 포도원에 대하여 노함이 없나니 찔레와 가시가 나를 대적하여 싸운다 하자 내가 그것을 밟고 모아 불사르리라

I am not angry. If only there were briers and thorns confronting me! I would march against them in battle; I would set them all on fire.

사27:5 그리하지 아니 하면 내 힘을 의지하고 나와 화친하며 나와 화친할 것이니라

Or else let them come to me for refuge; let them make peace with me, yes, let them make peace with me."

사27:6 후일에는 야곱의 뿌리가 박히며 이스라엘의 움이 돋고 꽃이 필 것이라 그들이 그의 결실로 지면에 채우리로다

In days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit.

사27:7 주께서 그의 백성을 치셨은들 그의 백성을 친 자들을 치심과 같았겠으며 백성이 죽임을 당하였던들 백성을 죽인 자가 죽임을 당함과 같았겠느냐

Has the LORD struck her as he struck down those who struck her? Has she been killed as those were killed who killed her?

사27:8 주께서 백성을 적당하게 견책하사 쫓아내실 때에 동풍 부는 날에 폭풍으로 그들을 옮기셨느니라

By warfare and exile you contend with her--with his fierce blast he drives her out, as on a day the east wind blows.

사27:9 야곱의 불의가 속함을 얻으며 그의 죄 없이함을 받을 결과는 이로 말미암나니 곧 그가 제단의 모든 돌로 부숴진 횟돌 같게 하며 아세라와 태양상이 다시 서지 못하게 함에 있는 것이라

By this, then, will Jacob's guilt be atoned for, and this will be the full fruitage of the removal of his sin: When he makes all the altar stones to be like chalk stones crushed to pieces, no Asherah poles or incense altars will be left standing.

사27:10 대저 견고한 성읍은 적막하고 거처가 황무하며 버림 받아 광야와 같았은즉 송아지가 거기에서 먹고 거기에 누우며 그 나뭇가지를 먹어 없이하리라

The fortified city stands desolate, an abandoned settlement, forsaken like the desert; there the calves graze, there they lie down; they strip its branches bare.

사27:11 가지가 마르면 꺾이나니 여인들이 와서 그것을 불사를 것이라 백성이 지각이 없으므로 그들을 지으신 이가 불쌍히 여기지 아니하시며 그들을 조성하신 이가 은혜를 베풀지 아니하시리라

When its twigs are dry, they are broken off and women come and make fires with them. For this is a people without understanding; so their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator shows them no favor.

사27:12 너희 이스라엘 자손들아 그 날에 여호와께서 창일하는 하수에서부터 애굽 시내에까지 과실을 떠는 것 같이 너희를 하나하나 모으시리라

In that day the LORD will thresh from the flowing Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt, and you, O Israelites, will be gathered up one by one.

사27:13 그 날에 큰 나팔을 울려 불리니 앗수르 땅에서 멸망하는 자들과 애굽 땅으로 쫓겨난 자들이 돌아와서 예루살렘 성산에서 여호와께 예배하리라

And in that day a great trumpet will sound. Those who were perishing in Assyria and those who were exiled in Egypt will come and worship the LORD on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.

Isaiah 28

사28:1 에브라임의 술취한 자들의 교만한 면류관은 화 있을진저 술에 빠진 자의 성 곧 영화로운 관 같이 기름진 골짜기 꼭대기에 세운 성이여 쇠잔해 가는 꽃 같으니 화 있을진저

Woe to that wreath, the pride of Ephraim's drunkards, to the fading flower, his glorious beauty, set on the head of a fertile valley--to that city, the pride of those laid low by wine!

사28:2 보라 주께 있는 강하고 힘있는 자가 쏟아지는 우박 같이, 파괴하는 광풍 같이, 큰 물이 넘침 같이 손으로 그 면류관을 땅에 던지리니

See, the Lord has one who is powerful and strong. Like a hailstorm and a destructive wind, like a driving rain and a flooding downpour, he will throw it forcefully to the ground.

사28:3 에브라임의 술취한 자들의 교만한 면류관이 발에 밟힐 것이라

That wreath, the pride of Ephraim's drunkards, will be trampled underfoot.

사28:4 그 기름진 골짜기 꼭대기에 있는 그의 영화의 쇠잔해 가는 꽃이 여름 전에 처음 익은 무화과와 같으리니 보는 자가 그것을 보고 얼른 따서 먹으리로다

That fading flower, his glorious beauty, set on the head of a fertile valley, will be like a fig ripe before harvest--as soon as someone sees it and takes it in his hand, he swallows it.

사28:5 그 날에 만군의 여호와께서 자기 남은 자에게 영화로운 면류관이 되시며 아름다운 화관이 되실 것이라

In that day the LORD Almighty will be a glorious crown, a beautiful wreath for the remnant of his people.

사28:6 재판석에 앉은 자에게는 판결하는 영이 되시며 성문에서 싸움을 물리치는 자에게는 힘이 되시리로다

He will be a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

사28:7 그리하여도 이들은 포도주로 말미암아 옆걸음 치며 독주로 말미암아 비틀거리며 제사장과 선지자도 독주로 말미암아 옆걸음 치며 포도주에 빠지며 독주로 말미암아 비틀거리며 환사을 잘못 풀며 재판할 때에 실수하나니

And these also stagger from wine and reel from beer: Priests and prophets stagger from beer and are befuddled with wine; they reel from beer, they stagger when seeing visions, they stumble when rendering decisions.

사28:8 모든 상에는 토한 것, 더러운 것이 가득하고 깨끗한 곳이 없도다

All the tables are covered with vomit and there is not a spot without filth.

사28:9 그들이 이르기를 그가 누구에게 지식을 가르치며 누구에게 도를 전하여 깨닫게 하려는가 젖 떨어져 품을 떠난 자들에게 하려는가

"Who is it he is trying to teach? To whom is he explaining his message? To children weaned from their milk, to those just taken from the breast?

사28:10 대저 경계에 경계를 더하며 경계에 경계를 더하며 교훈에 교훈을 더하며 교훈에 교훈을 더하되 여기서도 조금, 저기서도 조금 하는구나 하는도다

For it is: Do and do, do and do, rule on rule, rule on rule; a little here, a little there."

사28:11 그러므로 더듬는 입술과 다른 방언으로 그가 이 백성에게 말씀하시리라

Very well then, with foreign lips and strange tongues God will speak to this people,

사28:12 전에 그들에게 이르시기를 이것이 너희 안식이요 이것이 너희 상쾌함이니 너희는 곤비한 자에게 안식을 주라 하셨으나 그들이 듣지 아니하였으므로

to whom he said, "This is the resting place, let the weary rest"; and, "This is the place of repose"--but they would not listen.

사28:13 여호와께서 그들에게 말씀하시되 경계에 경계를 더하며 경계에 경계를 더하며 교훈에 교훈을 더하며 교훈에 교훈을 더하고 여기서도 조금, 저기서도 조금 하사 그들로 가다가 뒤로 넘어져 부러지며 걸리며 붙잡히게 하시리라

So then, the word of the LORD to them will become: Do and do, do and do, rule on rule, rule on rule; a little here, a little there--so that they will go and fall backward, be injured and snared and captured.

사28:14 이러므로 예루살렘에 있는 이 백성을 다스리는 너희 오만한 자여 여호와의 말씀을 들을지어다

Therefore hear the word of the LORD, you scoffers who rule this people in Jerusalem.

사28:15 너희가 말하기를 우리는 사망과 언약하였고 스올과 맹약하였은즉 넘치는 재앙이 밀려올지라고 우리에게 미치지 못하리니 우리는 거짓을 우리의 피난처로 삼았고 허위 아래 우리를 숨겼음이라 하는도다

You boast, "We have entered into a covenant with death, with the grave we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding place."

사28:16 그러므로 주 여호와께서 이같이 이르시되 보라 내가 한 돌을 시온에 두어 기초를 삼았노니 곧 시험한 돌이요 귀하고 견고한 기촛돌이라 그것을 믿는 이는 다급하게 되지 아니하리로다

So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.

사28:17 나는 정의를 측량줄로 삼고 공의를 저울추로 삼으니 우박이 거짓의 피난처를 소탕하며 물이 그 숨는 곳에 넘칠 것인즉

I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line; hail will sweep away your refuge, the lie, and water will overflow your hiding place.

사28:18 너희가 사망과 더불어 세운 언약이 폐하며 스올과 더불어 맺은 맹약이 서지 못하여 넘치는 재앙이 밀려올 때에 너희가 그것에게 밟힘을 당할 것이라

Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the grave will not stand. When the overwhelming scourge sweeps by, you will be beaten down by it.

사28:19 그것이 지나갈 때마다 너희를 잡을 것이니 아침마다 지나가며 주야로 지나가리니 소식을 깨닫는 것이 오직 두려움이라

As often as it comes it will carry you away; morning after morning, by day and by night, it will sweep through." The understanding of this message will bring sheer terror.

사28:20 침상이 짧아서 능히 몸을 펴지 못하며 이불이 좁아서 능히 몸을 싸지 못함 같으리라 하셨나니

The bed is too short to stretch out on, the blanket too narrow to wrap around you.

사28:21 대저 여호와께서 브라심 산에서와 같이 일어나시며 기브온 골짜기에서와 같이 진노하사 자기 일을 행하시리니 그의 일이 비상할 것이며 자기의 사역을 이루시리니 그의 사역이 기이할 것임이라

The LORD will rise up as he did at Mount Perazim, he will rouse himself as in the Valley of Gibeon--to do his work, his strange work, and perform his task, his alien task.

사28:22 그러므로 너희는 오만한 자가 되지 말라 너희 결박이 단단해질까 하노라 대저 온 땅을 멸망시키기로 작정하신 것을 내가 만군의 주 여호와께로부터 들었느니라

Now stop your mocking, or your chains will become heavier; the Lord, the LORD Almighty, has told me of the destruction decreed against the whole land.

사28:23 너희는 귀를 기울여 내 목소리를 들으라 자세히 내 말을 들으라

Listen and hear my voice; pay attention and hear what I say.

사28:24 파종하려고 가는 자가 어찌 쉬지 않고 갈기만 하겠느냐 자기 땅을 개간하며 고르게만 하겠느냐

When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually? Does he keep on breaking up and harrowing the soil?

사28:25 지면을 이미 평평히 하였으면 소회향을 뿌리며 대회향을 뿌리며 소맥을 줄줄이 심으며 대맥을 정한 곳에 심으며 귀리를 그 가에 심지 아니하겠느냐

When he has leveled the surface, does he not sow caraway and scatter cummin? Does he not plant wheat in its place, barley in its plot, and spelt in its field?

사28:26 이는 그의 하나님이 그에게 적당한 방법으로 보이사 가르치셨음이며

His God instructs him and teaches him the right way.

사28:27 소회향은 도리깨로 떨지 아니하며 대회향에는 수레 바퀴를 굴리지 아니하고 소회향은 작대기로 떨고 대회향은 막대기로 떨며

Caraway is not threshed with a sledge, nor is a cartwheel rolled over cummin; caraway is beaten out with a rod, and cummin with a stick.

사28:28 곡식은 부수는가, 아니라 늘 떨기만 하지 아니하고 그것에 수레 바퀴를 굴리고 그것을 말굽으로 밟게 할지라도 부수지는 아니하나니

Grain must be ground to make bread; so one does not go on threshing it forever. Though he drives the wheels of his threshing cart over it, his horses do not grind it.

사28:29 이도 만군의 여호와께로부터 난 것이라 그의 경영은 기묘하며 지혜는 광대하니라

All this also comes from the LORD Almighty, wonderful in counsel and magnificent in wisdom.

Isaiah 29

사29:1 슬프다 아리엘이여 아리엘이여 다윗의 진친 성읍이여 해마다 절기가 돌아오려니와

Woe to you, Ariel, Ariel, the city where David settled! Add year to year and let your cycle of festivals go on.

사29:2 내가 아리엘을 괴롭게 하리니 그가 슬퍼하고 애곡하며 내게 아리엘과 같이 되리라

Yet I will besiege Ariel; she will mourn and lament, she will be to me like an altar hearth.

사29:3 내가 너를 사면으로 둘러 진을 치며 너를 에워 대를 쌓아 너를 치리니

I will encamp against you all around; I will encircle you with towers and set up my siege works against you.

사29:4 네가 낮아져서 땅에서 말하며 네 말소리가 나직히 티끌에서 날 것이라 네 목소리가 신접한 자의 목소리 같이 땅에서 나며 네 말소리가 티끌에서 지껄이리라

Brought low, you will speak from the ground; your speech will mumble out of the dust. Your voice will come ghostlike from the earth; out of the dust your speech will whisper.

사29:5 그럴지라도 네 대적의 무리는 세미한 티끌 같겠고 강포한 자의 무리는 날려 가는 겨 같으리니 그 일이 순식간에 갑자기 일어날 것이라

But your many enemies will become like fine dust, the ruthless hordes like blown chaff. Suddenly, in an instant,

사29:6 만군의 여호와께서 우레와 지진과 큰 소리와 회오리바람과 폭풍과 맹렬한 불꽃으로 그들을 징벌하실 것인즉

the LORD Almighty will come with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with windstorm and tempest and flames of a devouring fire.

사29:7 아리엘을 치는 열방의 무리 곧 아리엘과 그 요새를 쳐서 그를 곤고하게 하는 모든 자는 꿈 같이, 밤의 환상 같이 되리니

Then the hordes of all the nations that fight against Ariel, that attack her and her fortress and besiege her, will be as it is with a dream, with a vision in the night--

사29:8 주린 자가 꿈에 먹었을지라도 깨면 그 속은 여전히 비고 목마른 자가 꿈에 마셨을지라도 깨면 곤비하며 그 속에 갈증이 있는 것 같이 시온 산을 치는 열방의 무리가 그와 같으리라

as when a hungry man dreams that he is eating, but he awakens, and his hunger remains; as when a thirsty man dreams that he is drinking, but he awakens faint, with his thirst unquenched. So will it be with the hordes of all the nations that fight against Mount Zion.

사29:9 너희는 놀라고 놀라라 너희는 맹인이 되고 맹인이 되라 그들의 취함이 포도주로 말미암음이 아니며 그들의 비틀거림이 독주로 말미암음이 아니니라

Be stunned and amazed, blind yourselves and be sightless; be drunk, but not from wine, stagger, but not from beer.

사29:10 대저 여호와께서 깊이 잠들게 하는 영을 너희에게 부어 주사 너희의 눈을 감기셨음이니 그가 선지자들과 너희의 지도자인 선견자들을 덮으셨음이라

The LORD has brought over you a deep sleep: He has sealed your eyes (the prophets); he has covered your heads (the seers).

사29:11 그러므로 모든 계시가 너희에게는 봉한 책의 말처럼 되었으니 그것을 글 아는 자에게 주며 이르기를 그대에게 청하노니 이를 읽으라 하면 그가 대답하기를 그것이 봉해졌으니 나는 못 읽겠노라 할 것이요

For you this whole vision is nothing but words sealed in a scroll. And if you give the scroll to someone who can read, and say to him, "Read this, please," he will answer, "I can't; it is sealed."

사29:12 또 그 책을 글 모르는 자에게 주며 이르기를 그대에게 청하노니 이를 읽으라 하면 그가 대답하기를 나는 글을 모른다 할 것이니라

Or if you give the scroll to someone who cannot read, and say, "Read this, please," he will answer, "I don't know how to read."

사29:13 주께서 이르시되 이 백성이 입으로는 나를 가까이하며 입술로는 나를 공경하나 그들의 마음은 내게서 멀리 떠났나니 그들이 나를 경외함은 사람의 계명으로 가르침을 받았을 뿐이라

The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.

사29:14 그러므로 내가 이 백성 중에 기이한 일 곧 기이하고 가장 기이한 일을 다시 행하리니 그들 중의 지혜자의 지혜가 없어지고 명철자의 총명이 가려지리라

Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish."

사29:15 자기의 계획을 여호와께 깊이 숨기려 하는 자들은 화있을진저 그들의 일을 어두운 데에서 행하며 이르기를 누가 우리를 보랴 누가 우리를 알랴 하니

Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the LORD, who do their work in darkness and think, "Who sees us? Who will know?"

사29:16 너희의 패역함이 심하도다 토기장이를 어찌 진흙 같이 여기겠느냐 지음을 받은 물건이 어찌 자기를 지은 이에게 대하여 이르기를 그가 나를 짓지 아니하였다 하겠으며 빚음을 받은 물건이 자기를 빚은 이에게 대하여 이르기를 그가 총명이 없다 하겠느냐

You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay! Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, "He did not make me"? Can the pot say of the potter, "He knows nothing"?

사29:17 오래지 아니하여 레바논이 기름진 밭으로 변하지 않겠으며 기름진 밭이 숲으로 여겨지지 아니하겠느냐

In a very short time, will not Lebanon be turned into a fertile field and the fertile field seem like a forest?

사29:18 그 날에 못듣는 사람이 책의 말을 들을 것이며 어둡고 캄캄한 데서 맹인의 눈이 볼 것이며 겸손한 자에게 여호와로 말미암아 기쁨이 더하겠고 사람 중 가난한 자가 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이로 말미암아 즐거워하리니

In that day the deaf will hear the words of the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see.

사29:19 이는 강포한 자가 소멸되었으며 오만한 자가 그쳤으며 죄악의 기회를 엿보던 자가 다 끊어졌음이라

Once more the humble will rejoice in the LORD; the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

사29:20 그들은 송사로 사람에게 죄를 씌우며 성문에서 판단하는 자를 올무로 잡듯 하며 헛된 일로 의인을 억울하게 하느라

The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down--

사29:21 그러므로 아브라함을 구속하신 여호와께서 야곱 족속에 대하여 이같이 말씀하시되 야곱이 이제는 부끄러워하지 아니하겠고 그의 얼굴이 이제는 창백해지지 아니할 것이며

those who with a word make a man out to be guilty, who ensnare the defender in court and with false testimony deprive the innocent of justice.

사29:22 그의 자손은 내 손이 그 가운데에서 행한 것을 볼 때에 내 이름을 거룩하다 하며 야곱의 거룩한 이를 거룩하다 하며 이스라엘의 하나님을 경외할 것이며

Therefore this is what the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, says to the house of Jacob: "No longer will Jacob be ashamed; no longer will their faces grow pale.

사29:23 마음이 혼미하던 자들도 총명하게 되며 원망하던 자들도 교훈을 받으리라 하셨느라

When they see among them their children, the work of my hands, they will keep my name holy; they will acknowledge the holiness of the Holy One of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.
