Isaiah 44

사44:1 나의 종 야곱, 내가 택한 이스라엘아 이제 들으라

"But now listen, O Jacob, my servant, Israel, whom I have chosen.

사44:2 너를 만들고 너를 모태에서부터 지어 낸 너를 도와 줄 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 나의 종 야곱, 내가 택한 여수룬아 두려워하지 말라

This is what the LORD says--he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

사44:3 나는 목마른 자에게 물을 주며 마른 땅에 시내가 흐르게 하며 나의 영을 네 자손에게, 나의 복을 네 후손에게 부어 주리니

For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.

사44:4 그들이 풀 가운데에서 솟아나기를 시냇가의 버들 같이 할 것이라

They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.

사44:5 한 사람은 이르기를 나는 여호와께 속하였다 할 것이며 또 한 사람은 야곱의 이름으로 자기를 부를 것이며 또 다른 사람은 자기가 여호와께 속하였음을 그의 손으로 기록하고 이스라엘의 이름으로 존귀히 여김을 받으리라

One will say, 'I belong to the LORD'; another will call himself by the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand, 'The LORD'S,' and will take the name Israel.

사44:6 이스라엘의 왕인 여호와, 이스라엘의 구원자인 만군의 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 나는 처음이요 나는 마지막이라 나 외에 다른 신이 없느니라

"This is what the LORD says--Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.

사44:7 내가 영원한 백성을 세운 이후로 나처럼 외치며 알리며 나에게 설명할 자가 누구냐 있거든 될 일과 장차 올 일을 그들에게 알릴지어다

Who then is like me? Let him proclaim it. Let him declare and lay out before me what has happened since I established my ancient people, and what is yet to come--yes, let him foretell what will come.

사44:8 너희는 두려워하지 말며 겁내지 말라 내가 예로부터 너희에게 듣게 하지 아니하였느냐 알리지 아니하였느냐 너희는 나의 증인이라 나 외에 신이 있겠느냐 과연 반석은 없나니 다른 신이 있음을 내가 알지 못하노라

Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one."

사44:9 우상을 만드는 자는 다 허망하도다 그들이 원하는 것들은 무익한 것이어늘 그것들의 증인들은 보지도 못하며 알지도 못하니 그러므로 수치를 당하리라

All who make idols are nothing, and the things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind; they are ignorant, to their own shame.

사44:10 신상을 만들며 무익한 우상을 부어 만든 자가 누구냐

Who shapes a god and casts an idol, which can profit him nothing?

사44:11 보라 그와 같은 무리들이 다 수치를 당할 것이라 그 대장장이들은 사람일 뿐이라 그들이 다 모여 서서 두려워하며 함께 수치를 당할 것이니라

He and his kind will be put to shame; craftsmen are nothing but men. Let them all come together and take their stand; they will be brought down to terror and infamy.

사44:12 철공은 철로 연장을 만들고 숯불로 일하며 망치를 가지고 그것을 만들며 그의 힘센 팔로 그 일을 하나 배가 고프면 기운이 없고 물을 마시지 아니하면 피로하니라

The blacksmith takes a tool and works with it in the coals; he shapes an idol with hammers, he forges it with the might of his arm. He gets hungry and loses his strength; he drinks no water and grows faint.

사44:13 목공은 줄을 늘여 재고 붓으로 긋고 대패로 밀고 곡선자로 그어 사람의 아름다움을 따라 사람의 모양을 만들어 집에 두게 하며

The carpenter measures with a line and makes an outline with a marker; he roughs it out with chisels and marks it with compasses. He shapes it in the form of man, of man in all his glory, that it may dwell in a shrine.

사44:14 그는 자기를 위하여 백향목을 베며 디르사 나무와 상수리나무를 취하며 숲의 나무들 가운데에서 자기를 위하여 한 나무를 정하며 나무를 심고 비를 맞고 자라게도 하느니라

He cut down cedars, or perhaps took a cypress or oak. He let it grow among the trees of the forest, or planted a pine, and the rain made it grow.

사44:15 이 나무는 사람이 땔감을 삼는 것이거늘 그가 그것을 가지고 자기 몸을 덥게도 하고 불을 피워 떡을 굽기도 하고 신상을 만들어 경배하며 우상을 만들고 그 앞에 엎드리기도 하는구나

It is man's fuel for burning; some of it he takes and warms himself, he kindles a fire and bakes bread. But he also fashions a god and worships it; he makes an idol and bows down to it.

사44:16 그 중의 절반은 불에 사르고 그 절반으로는 고기를 구워 먹고 배불리며 또 몸을 덥게 하여 이르기를 아하 따뜻하다 내가 불을 보았구나 하면서

Half of the wood he burns in the fire; over it he prepares his meal, he roasts his meat and eats his fill. He also warms himself and says, "Ah! I am warm; I see the fire."

사44:17 그 나머지로 신상 곧 자기의 우상을 만들고 그 앞에 엎드려 경배하며 그것에게 기도하여 이르기를 너는 나의 신이니 나를 구원하라 하는도다

From the rest he makes a god, his idol; he bows down to it and worships. He prays to it and says, "Save me; you are my god."

사44:18 그들이 알지도 못하고 깨닫지도 못하는 그들의 눈이 가려서 보지 못하며 그들의 마음이 어두워져서 깨닫지 못함이니라

They know nothing, they understand nothing; their eyes are plastered over so they cannot see, and their minds closed so they cannot understand.

사44:19 마음에 생각도 없고 지식도 없고 총명도 없으므로 내가 그것의 절반을 불사르고 또한 그 숯불 위에서 떡도 굽고 고기도 구워 먹었거늘 내가 어찌 그 나머지로 가증한 물건을 만들겠으며 내가 어찌 그 나무 토막 앞에 굴복하리요 말하지 아니하니

No one stops to think, no one has the knowledge or understanding to say, "Half of it I used for fuel; I even baked bread over its coals, I roasted meat and I ate. Shall I make a detestable thing from what is left? Shall I bow down to a block of wood?"

사44:20 그는 재를 먹고 허탄한 마음에 미혹되어 자기의 영혼을 구원하지 못하며 나의 오른손에 거짓 것이 있지 아니하냐 하지도 못하느니라

He feeds on ashes, a deluded heart misleads him; he cannot save himself, or say, "Is not this thing in my right hand a lie?"

사44:21 야곱아 이스라엘아 이 일를 기억하라 너는 내 종이니라 내가 너를 지었으니 너는 내 종이니라 이스라엘아 너는 나에게 잊혀지지 아니하리라

"Remember these things, O Jacob, for you are my servant, O Israel. I have made you, you are my servant; O Israel, I will not forget you.

사44:22 내가 네 허물을 빽빽한 구름 같이, 네 죄를 안개 같이 없이하였으니 너는 내게로 돌아오라 내가 너를 구속하였음이니라

I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you."

사44:23 여호와께서 이 일을 행하셨으니 하늘아 노래할지어다 땅의 깊은 곳들아 높이 부를지어다 산들아 숲과 그 가운데의 모든 나무들아 소리내어 노래할지어다 여호와께서 야곱을 구속하셨으니 이스라엘 중에 자기의 영광을 나타내실 것임이로다

Sing for joy, O heavens, for the LORD has done this; shout aloud, O earth beneath. Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees, for the LORD has redeemed Jacob, he displays his glory in Israel.

사44:24 네 구속자요 모태에서 너를 지은 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 나는 만물을 지은 여호와라 홀로 하늘을 폈으며 나와 함께 한 자 없이 땅을 펼쳤고

"This is what the LORD says--your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself,

사44:25 헛된 말을 하는 자들의 징표를 폐하며 점 치는 자들을 미치게 하며 지혜로운 자들을 물리쳐 그들의 지식을 어리석게 하며

who foils the signs of false prophets and makes fools of diviners, who overthrows the learning of the wise and turns it into nonsense,

사44:26 그의 종의 말을 세워 주며 그의 사자들의 계획을 성취하게 하며 예루살렘에 대하여는 이르기를 거기에 사람이 살리라 하며 유다 성읍들에 대하여는 중건될 것이라 내가 그 황폐한 곳들을 복구시키리라 하며

who carries out the words of his servants and fulfills the predictions of his messengers, who says of Jerusalem, 'It shall be inhabited,' of the towns of Judah, 'They shall be built,' and of their ruins, 'I will restore them,'

사44:27 깊음에 대하여는 이르기를 마르라 내가 네 강물들을 마르게 하리라 하며

who says to the watery deap, 'Be dry, and I will dry up your streams,'

사44:28 고레스에 대하여는 이르기를 내 목자라 그가 나의 모든 기쁨을 성취하리라 하며 예루살렘에 대하여는 이르기를 중건되리라 하며 성전에 대하여는 네 기초가 놓여지리라 하는 자니라

who says of Cyrus, 'He is my shepherd and will accomplish all that I please; he will say of Jerusalem, "Let it be rebuilt," and of the temple, "Let its foundations be laid."'

Isaiah 45

사45:1 여호와께서 그의 기름 부음을 받은 고레스에게 이같이 말씀하시되 내가 그의 오른손을 붙들고 그 앞에 열국을 항복하게 하며 내가 왕들의 허리를 풀어 그 앞에 문들을 열고 성문들이 닫히지 못하게 하리라

"This is what the LORD says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him so that gates will not be shut:

사45:2 내가 너보다 앞서 가서 험한 곳을 평탄하게 하며 놋문을 쳐서 부수며 쇠빗장을 꺾고

I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.

사45:3 네게 흑암 중의 보화와 은밀한 곳에 숨은 재물을 주어 네 이름을 부르는 자가 나 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님인 줄을 네가 알게 하리라

I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.

사45:4 내가 나의 종 야곱, 나의 택한 자 이스라엘 곧 너를 위하여 네 이름을 불러 너는 나를 알지 못하였을지라도 네게 칭호를 주었노라

For the sake of Jacob my servant, of Israel my chosen, I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge me.

사45:5 나는 여호와라 나 외에 다른 이가 없나니 나 밖에 신이 없느니라 너는 나를 알지 못하였을지라도 나는 네 띠를 동일 것이요

I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me,

사45:6 해 뜨는 곳에서든지 지는 곳에서든지 나 밖에 다른 이가 없는 줄을 알게 하리라 나는 여호와라 다른 이가 없느니라

so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting men may know there is none besides me. I am the LORD, and there is no other.

사45:7 나는 빛도 짓고 어둠도 창조하며 나는 평안도 짓고 환난도 창조하나니 나는 여호와라 이 모든 일들을 행하는 자니라 하였노라

I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things.

사45:8 하늘이여 위로부터 고의를 뿌리며 구름이여 의를 부을지어다 땅이여 열려서 구원을 싹트게 하고 공의도 함께 움돋게 할지어다 나 여호와가 이 일을 창조하였느니라

"You heavens above, rain down righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness grow with it; I, the LORD, have created it.

사45:9 질그릇 조각 중 한 조각 같은 자가 자기를 지으신 이와 더불어 다툴진대 화 있을진저 진흙이 토기장이에게 너는 무엇을 만드느냐 또는 네가 만든 것이 그는 손이 없다 말할 수 있겠느냐

"Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker, to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground. Does tha clay say to the potter, 'What are you making?' Does your work say, 'He has no hands'?

사45:10 아버지에게 무엇을 낳았소 하고 묻고 어머니에게는 무엇을 낳으려고 해산의 수고를 하였소 하고 묻는 자는 화 있을진저

Woe to him who says to his father, 'What have you begotten?' or to his mother, 'What have you brought to birth?'

사45:11 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이 곧 이스라엘을 지으신 여호와께서 이같이 이르시되 너희가 장래 일을 내게 물으며 또 내 아들들과 내 손으로 한 일에 관하여 내게 명령하려느냐

"This is what the LORD says--the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: Concerning things to come, do you question me about my children, or give me orders about the work of my hands?

사45:12 내가 땅을 만들고 그 위에 사람을 창조하였으며 내가 내 손으로 하늘을 펴고 하늘의 모든 군대에게 명령하였노라

It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts.

사45:13 내가 공의로 그를 일으킨지라 그의 모든 길을 곧게 하리니 그가 나의 성읍을 건축할 것이며 사로잡힌 내 백성을 값이나 갚음이 없이 놓으리라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라 하셨느니라

I will raise up Cyrus in my righteousness: I will make all his ways straight. He will rebuild my city and set my exiles free, but not for a price or reward, says the LORD Almighty."

사45:14 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 애굽의 소득과 구스의 무역한 것과 스바의 장대한 남자들이 네게로 건너와서 네게 속할 것이요 그들이 너를 따를 것이라 사슬에 매여 건너와서 네게 굴복하고 간구하기를 하나님이 과연 네게 계시고 그 외에는 다른 하나님이 없다 하리라 하시니라

This is what the LORD says: "The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, and those tall Sabeans--they will come over to you and will be yours; they will trudge behind you, coming over to you in chains. They will bow down before you and plead with you, saying, 'Surely God is with you, and there is no other; there is no other god.'"

사45:15 구원자 이스라엘의 하나님이여 진실로 주는 스스로 숨어 계시는 하나님이시니이다

Truly you are a God who hides himself, O God and Savior of Israel.

사45:16 우상을 만드는 자는 부끄러움을 당하며 욕을 받아 다 함께 수욕 중에 들어갈 것이로되

All the makers of idols will be put to shame and disgraced; they will go off into disgrace together.

사45:17 이스라엘은 여호와께 구원을 받아 영원한 구원을 얻으리니 너희가 영원히 부끄러움을 당하거나 욕을 받지 아니하리로다

But Israel will be saved by the LORD with an everlasting salvation; you will never be put to shame or disgraced, to ages everlasting.

사45:18 대저 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 하늘을 창조하신 이 그는 하나님이시니 그가 땅을 지으시고 그것을 만드셨으며 그것을 견고하게 하시되 혼돈하게 창조하지 아니하시고 사람이 거주하게 그것을 지으셨으니 나는 여호와라 나 외에 다른 이가 없느니라 하시니라

For this is what the LORD says--he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited--he says: "I am the LORD, and there is no other.

사45:19 나는 감추어진 곳과 캄캄한 땅에서 말하지 아니하였으며 야곱 자손에게 너희가 나를 혼돈 중에서 찾으라고 이르지 아니하였노라 나 여호와는 의를 말하고 정직한 것을 알리느니라

I have not spoken in secret, from somewhere in a land of darkness; I have not said to Jacob's descendants, 'Seek me in vain.' I, the LORD, speak the truth; I declare what is right.

사45:20 열방 중에서 피난한 자들아 너희는 모여 오라 함께 가까이 나아오라 나무 우상을 가지고 다니며 구원하지 못하는 신에게 기도하는 자들은 무지한 자들이니라

"Gather together and come; assemble, you fugitives from the nations. Ignorant are those who carry about idols of wood, who pray to gods that cannot save.

사45:21 너희는 알리며 진술하고 또 함께 의논하여 보라 이 일을 옛부터 듣게 한 자가 누구냐 이전부터 그것을 알게 한 자가 누구냐 나 여호와가 아니냐 나 외에 다른 신이 없나니 나는 공의를 행하며 구원을 베푸는 하나님이라 나 외에 다른 이가 없느니라

Declare what is to be, present it--let them take counsel together. Who foretold this long ago, who declared it from the distant past? Was it not I, the LORD? And there is no God apart from me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none but me.

사45:22 땅 끝의 모든 끝이여 내게로 돌이켜 구원을 받으라 나는 하나님이라 다른 이가 없느니라

"Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

사45:23 내가 나를 두고 맹세하기를 내 입에서 공의로운 말이 나갔은즉 돌아오지 아니하나니 내게 모든 무릎이 꿇겠고 모든 혀가 맹세하리라 하였노라

By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear.

사45:24 내게 대한 어떤 자의 말에 공의와 힘은 여호와께만 있나니 사람들이 그에게로 나아갈 것이라 무릇 그에게 노하는 자는 부끄러움을 당하리라 그러나

They will say of me, 'In the LORD alone are righteousness and strength.'" All who have raged against him will come to him and be put to shame.

사45:25 이스라엘 자손은 다 여호와로 말미암아 의롭다 함을 얻고 자랑하리라 하느니라

But in the LORD all the descendants of Israel will be found righteous and will exult.

Isaiah 46

사46:1 벨은 엎드러졌고 느보는 구부러졌도다 그들의 우상들은 짐승과 가축에게 실렸으니 너희가 떠메고 다니던 그것들이 피곤한 짐승의 무거운 짐이 되었도다

Bel bows down, Nebo stoops low; their idols are borne by beasts of burden. The images that are carried about are burdensome, a burden for the weary.

사46:2 그들은 구부러졌고 그들은 일제히 엎드러졌으므로 그 짐을 구하여 내지 못하고 자기들도 잡혀 갔느니라

They stoop and bow down together; unable to rescue the burden, they themselves go off into captivity.

사46:3 야곱의 집이여 이스라엘 집에 남은 모든 자여 내게 들을지어다 배에서 태어남으로부터 내게 안겼고 태에서 남으로부터 내게 업힌 너희여

"Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all you who remain of the house of Israel, you whom I have upheld since you were conceived, and have carried since your birth.

사46:4 너희가 노년에 이르기까지 내가 그리하겠고 백발이 되기까지 내가 너희를 품을 것이라 내가 지었은즉 업을 것이요 니가 품고 구하여 내리라

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

사46:5 너희가 나를 누구에 비기며 누구와 짝하며 누구와 비교하여 서로 같다 하겠느냐

"To whom will you compare me or count me equal? To whom will you liken me that we may be compared?

사46:6 사람들이 주머니에서 금을 쏟아 내며 은을 저울에 달아 도금장이에게 주고 그것으로 신을 만들게 하고 그것에게 엎드려 경배하며

Some pour out gold from their bags and weigh out silver on the scales; they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god, and they bow down and worship it.

사46:7 그것을 들어 어깨에 메어다가 그의 처소에 두면 그것이 서 있고 거기에서 능히 움직이지 못하며 그에게 부르짖어도 능히 응답하지 못하며 고난에서 구하여 내지도 못하느니라

They lift it to their shoulders and carry it; they set it up in its place, and there it stands. From that spot it cannot move. Though one cries out to it, it does not answer; it cannot save him from his troubles.

사46:8 너희 패역한 자들아 이 일을 기억하고 장부가 되라 이 일을 마음에 두라

"Remember this, fix it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels.

사46:9 너희는 옛적 일을 기억하라 나는 하나님이라 나 외에 다른 이가 없느니라 나는 하나님이라 나 같은 이가 없느니라

Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.

사46:10 내가 시초부터 종말을 알리며 아직 이루지 아니한 일을 옛적부터 보이고 이르기를 나의 뜻이 설 것이니 내가 나의 모든 기뻐하는 것을 이루리라 하였노라

I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.

사46:11 내가 동쪽에서 사나운 날짐승을 부르며 먼 나라에서 나의 뜻을 이룰 사람을 부를 것이라 내가 말하였은즉 반드시 이룰 것이요 계획하였은즉 반드시 시행하리라

From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.

사46:12 마음이 완악하여 공의에서 멀리 떠난 너희여 내게 들으라

Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, you who are far from righteousness.

사46:13 내가 나의 공의를 가깝게 할 것인즉 그것이 멀지 아니하나니 나의 구원이 지체하지 아니할 것이라 내가 나의 영광인 이스라엘을 위하여 구원을 시온에 베풀리라

I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel.
