Isaiah 47

사47:1 처녀 딸 바벨론이여 내려와서 티끌에 앉으라 딸 갈대아여 보좌가 없어졌으니 땅에 앉으라 네가 다시는 곱고 아리땁다 일컬음을 받지 못할 것임이라

"Go down, sit in the dust, Virgin Daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, Daughter of the Babylonians. No more will you be called tender or delicate.

사47:2 맷돌을 가지고 가루를 갈고 너울을 벗으며 치마를 걷어 다리를 드러내고 강을 건너라

Take millstones and grind flour; take off your veil. Lift up your skirts, bare your legs, and wade through the streams.

사47:3 네 속살이 드러나고 네 부끄러운 것이 보일 것이라 내가 보복하되 사람을 아끼지 아니하리라

Your nakedness will be exposed and your shame uncovered. I will take vengeance; I will spare no one."

사47:4 우리의 구원자는 그 이름이 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 거룩한 이시니라

Our Redeemer--the LORD Almighty is his name--is the Holy One of Israel.

사47:5 딸 갈대아여 잠잠히 앉으라 흑암으로 들어가라 네가 다시는 여러 왕국의 여주인이라 일컬음을 받지 못하리라

"Sit in silence, go into darkness, Daughter of the Babylonians; no more will you be called queen of kingdoms.

사47:6 전에 내가 내 백성을 노하여 내 기업을 욕되게 하여 그들을 네 손에 넘겨 주었거늘 네가 그들을 긍휼히 여기지 아니하고 늙은이에게 네 멍에를 심히 무겁게 메우며

I was angry with my people and desecrated my inheritance; I gave them into your hand, and you showed them no mercy. Even on the aged you laid a very heavy yoke.

사47:7 말하기를 내가 영영히 여주인이 되리라 하고 이 일을 네 마음에 두지도 아니하며 그들의 종말도 생각하지 아니하였도다

You said, 'I will continue forever--the eternal queen!' But you did not consider these things or reflect on what might happen.

사47:8 그러므로 사치하고 평안히 지내며 마음에 이르기를 나뿐이라 나 외에 다른 이가 없도다 나는 과부로 지내지도 아니하며 자녀를 잃어버리는 일도 모르리라 하는 자여 너는 이제 들을지어다

"Now then, listen, you wanton creature, lounging in your security and saying to yourself, 'I am, and there is none besides me. I will never be a widow or suffer the loss of children.'

사47:9 한 날에 갑자기 자녀를 잃으며 과부가 되는 이 두 일이 네게 임할 것이라 네가 무수한 주술과 많은 주문을 빌릴지라도 이 일이 온전히 네게 임하리라

Both of these will overtake you in a moment, on a single day: loss of children and widowhood. They will come upon you in full measure, in spite of your many sorceries and all your potent spells.

사47:10 네가 네 악을 의지하고 스스로 이르기를 나를 보는 자가 없다 하나니 네 지혜와 네 지식이 너를 유혹하였음이라 네 마음에 이르기를 나뿐이라 나 외에 다른 이가 없다 하였으므로

You have trusted in your wickedness and have said, 'No one sees me.' Your wisdom and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself, 'I am, and there is none besides me.'

사47:11 재앙이 네게 임하리라 그러나 네가 그 근원을 알지 못할 것이며 손해가 네게 이르리라 그러나 이를 물리칠 능력이 없을 것이며 파멸이 홀연히 네게 임하리라 그러나 네가 알지 못할 것이니라

Disaster will come upon you, and you will not know how to conjure it away. A calamity will fall upon you that you cannot ward off with a ransom; a catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon you.

사47:12 이제 너는 젊어서부터 힘쓰던 주문과 많은 주술을 가지고 맞서보라 혹시 유익을 얻을 수 있을는지, 혹시 놀라게 할 수 있을는지,

"Keep on, then, with your magic spells and with your many sorceries, which you have labored at since childhood. Perhaps you will succeed, perhaps you will cause terror.

사47:13 네가 많은 계략으로 말미암아 피곤하게 되었도다 하늘을 살피는 자와 별을 보는 자와 초하룻날에 예고하는 자들에게 일어나 네게 임할 그 일에서 너를 구원하게 하여 보라

All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you.

사47:14 보라 그들은 초개 같아서 불에 타리니 그 불꽃의 세력에서 스스로 구원하지 못할 것이라 이 불은 덥게 할 숯불이 아니요 그 앞에 앉을 만한 불도 아니니라

Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame. Here are no coals to warm anyone; here is no fire to sit by.

사47:15 네가 같이 힘쓰던 자들이 네게 이같이 되리니 어려서부터 너와 함께 장사하던 자들이 각기 제 길로 흩어지고 너를 구원할 자가 없으리라

That is all they can do for you--these you have labored with and trafficked with since childhood. Each of them goes on in his error; there is not one that can save you.

Isaiah 48

사48:1 야곱의 집이여 이를 들을지어다 너희는 이스라엘의 이름으로 일컬음을 받으며 유다의 허리에서 나왔으며 여호와의 이름으로 맹세하며 이스라엘의 하나님을 기념하면서도 진실이 없고 공의가 없도다

"Listen to this, O house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and come from the line of Judah, you who take oaths in the name of the LORD and invoke the God of Israel--but not in truth or righteousness--

사48:2 그들은 거룩한 성 출신이라고 스스로 부르며 이스라엘의 하나님을 의지한다 하며 그의 이름이 만군의 여호와라고 하나

you who call yourselves citizens of the holy city and rely on the God of Israel--the LORD Almighty is his name:

사48:3 내가 예로부터 처음 일들을 알게하였고 내 입에서 그것들이 나갔으며 또 내가 그것들을 듣게 하였고 내가 홀연히 행하여 그 일들이 이루어졌느니라

I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.

사48:4 내가 알거니와 너는 완고하며 네 목은 쇠의 힘줄이요 네 이마는 놋이라

For I knew how stubborn you were; the sinews of your neck were iron, your forehead was bronze.

사48:5 그러므로 내가 이 일을 예로부터 네게 알게 하였고 이 일이 이루어지기 전에 그것을 네게 듣게 하였느니라 그것을 네가 듣게 하여 내가 이것을 내 신이 행한 바요 내가 새긴 신상과 부어 만든 신상이 명령한 바라 말하지 못하게 하였느니라

Therefore I told you these things long ago; before they happened I announced them to you so that you could not say, 'My idols did them; my wooden image and metal god ordained them.'

사48:6 네가 들었으니 이 모든 것을 보라 너희가 선전하지 아니하겠느냐 이제부터 내가 새 일 곧 네가 알지 못하던 은비한 일을 네게 듣게 하노니

You have heard these things; look at them all. Will you not admit them? "From now on I will tell you of new things, of hidden things unknown to you.

사48:7 이 일들은 지금 창조된 것이요 옛 것이 아니라 오늘 이전에는 네가 듣지 못하였으니 이는 네가 말하기를 내가 이미 알았노라 하지 못하게 하려 함이라

They are created now, and not long ago; you have not heard of them before today. So you cannot say, 'Yes, I knew of them.'

사48:8 네가 과연 듣지도 못하였고 알지도 못하였으며 네 귀가 옛적부터 열리지 못하였나니 이는 네가 정녕 배신하여 모태에서부터 네가 배역한 자라 불린 줄을 내가 알았음이라

You have neither heard nor understood; from of old your ear has not been open. Well do I know how treacherous you are; you were called a rebel from birth.

사48:9 내 이름을 위하여 내가 노하기를 더디 할 것이며 내 영광을 위하여 내가 참고 너를 멸절하지 아니하리라

For my own name's sake I delay my wrath; for the sake of my praise I hold it back from you, so as not to cut you off.

사48:10 보라 내가 너를 연단하였으나 은처럼 하지 아니하고 너를 고난의 풀무 불에서 택하였노라

See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.

사48:11 나는 나를 위하며 나를 위하여 이를 이룰 것이라 어찌 내 이름을 욕되게 하리요 내 영광을 다른 자에게 주지 아니하리라

For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another.

사48:12 야곱아 내가 부른 이스라엘아 내게 들으라 나는 그니 나는 처음이요 또 나는 마지막이라

"Listen to me, O Jacob, Israel, whom I have called: I am he; I am the first and I am the last.

사48:13 과연 내 손이 땅의 기초를 정하였고 내 오른손이 하늘을 폈나니 내가 그들을 부르면 그것들이 일제히 서느니라

My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they all stand up together.

사48:14 너희는 다 모여 들으라 나 여호와가 사랑하는 자는 나의 기뻐하는 뜻을 바벨론에 행하리니 그의 팔이 갈대아인에게 임할 것이라 그들 중에 누가 이 일들을 알게하였느냐

"Come together, all of you, and listen: Which of the idols has foretold these things? The LORD'S chosen ally will carry out his purpose against Babylon; his arm will be against the Babylonians.

사48:15 나 곧 내가 말하였고 또 내가 그를 부르며 그를 인도하였나니 그 길이 형통하리라

I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him. I will bring him, and he will succeed in his mission.

사48:16 너희는 내게 가까이 나아와 이것을 들으라 내가 처음부터 비밀히 말하지 아니하였나니 그것이 있을 때부터 내가 거기에 있었노라 하셨느니라 이제는 주 여호와께서 나와 그의 영을 보내셨느니라

"Come near me and listen to this: "From the first announcement I have not spoken in secret; at the time it happens, I am there." And now the Sovereign LORD has sent me, with his Spirit.

사48:17 너희의 구속자시요 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이이신 여호와께서 이르시되 나는 네게 유익하도록 가르치고 너를 마땅히 행할 길로 인도하는 네 하나님 여호와라

This is what the LORD says--your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.

사48:18 네가 나의 명령에 주의하였더라면 네 평강이 강과 같았겠고 네 공의가 바다 물결 같았을 것이며

If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

사48:19 네 자손이 모래 같았겠고 네 몸의 소생이 모래 알 같아서 그의 이름이 내 앞에서 끊어지지 아니하였겠고 없어지지 아니하였으리라 하셨느니라

Your descendants would have been like the sand, your children like its numberless grains; their name would never be cut off nor destroyed from before me."

사48:20 너희는 바벨론에서 나와서 갈대아인을 피하고 즐거운 소리로 이를 알게 하여 들려주며 땅 끝까지 반포하여 이르기를 여호와께서 그의 종 야곱을 구속하셨다 하라

Leave Babylon, flee from the Babylonians! Announce this with shouts of joy and proclaim it. Send it out to the ends of the earth; say, "The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob."

사48:21 여호와께서 그들을 사막으로 통과하게 하시던 때에 그들이 목마르지 아니하게 하시되 그들을 위하여 바위에서 물이 흘러나게 하시며 바위를 쪼개사 물이 솟아나게 하셨느니라

They did not thirst when he led them through the deserts; he made water flow for them from the rock; he split the rock and water gushed out.

사48:22 여호와께서 말씀하시되 악인에게는 평강이 없다 하셨느니라

"There is no peace," says the LORD, "for the wicked."

Isaiah 49

사49:1 섬들아 내게 들으라 먼곳 백성들아 귀를 기울이라 여호와께서 태에서부터 나를 부르셨고 내 어머니 복중에서부터 내 이름을 기억하셨으며

Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the LORD called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name.

사49:2 내 입을 날카로운 칼 같이 만드시고 나를 그의 손 그늘에 숨기시며 나를 갈고 닦은 화살로 만드사 그의 화살통에 감추시고

He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

사49:3 내게 이르시되 너는 나의 종이요 내 영광을 네 속에 나타낼 이스라엘이라 하셨느니라

He said to me, "You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor."

사49:4 그러나 나는 말하기를 내가 헛되이 수고하였으며 무익하게 공연히 내 힘을 다하였다 하였도다 참으로 나에 대한 판단이 여호와께 있고 나의 보응이 나의 하나님께 있느니라

But I said, "I have labored to no purpose; I have spent my strength in vain and for nothing. Yet what is due me is in the LORD'S hand, and my reward is with my God."

사49:5 이제 여호와께서 말씀하시나니 그는 태에서부터 나를 그의 종으로 지으신 이시요 야곱을 그에게로 돌아오게 하시는 이시니 이스라엘이 그에게로 모이는도다 그러므로 내가 여호와 보시기에 영화롭게 되었으며 나의 하나님은 나의 힘이 되셨도다

And now the LORD says--he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength--

사49:6 그가 이르시되 네가 나의 종이 되어 야곱의 지파들을 일으키며 이스라엘 중에 보전된 자를 돌아오게 할 것은 매우 쉬운 일이라 내가 또 너를 이방의 빛으로 삼아 나의 구원을 베풀어서 땅 끝까지 이르게 하리라

he says: "It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth."

사49:7 이스라엘의 구속자, 이스라엘의 거룩한 이이신 여호와께서 사람에게 멸시를 당하는 자, 백성에게 미움을 받는 자, 관원들에게 종이 된 자에게 이같이 이르시되 왕들이 보고 일어서며 고관들이 경배하리니 이는 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이 신실하신 여호와 그가 너를 택하였음이니라

This is what the LORD says--the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel--to him who was despised and abhorred by the nation, to the servant of rulers: "Kings will see you and rise up, princes will see and bow down, because of the LORD, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you."

사49:8 여호와께서 이같이 이르시되 은혜의 때에 내가 네게 응답하였고 구원의 날에 내가 너를 도왔도다 내가 장차 너를 보호하여 너를 백성의 언약으로 삼으며 나라를 일으켜 그들에게 그 황무하였던 땅을 기업으로 상속하게 하리라

This is what the LORD says: "In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances,

사49:9 내가 잡혀 있는 자에게 이르기를 나오라 하며 흑암에 있는 자에게 나타나라 하리라 그들이 길에서 먹겠고 모든 헐벗은 산에도 그들의 풀밭이 있을 것인즉

to say to the captives, 'Come out,' and to those in darkness, 'Be free!' "They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill.

사49:10 그들이 주리거나 목마르지 아니할 것이며 더위와 볕이 그들을 상하지 아니하리니 이는 그들을 긍휼히 여기는 이가 그들을 이끌되 샘물 근원으로 인도할 것임이라

They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat upon them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.

사49:11 내가 나의 모든 산을 길로 삼고 나의 대로를 돋우리니

I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up.

사49:12 어떤 사람은 먼 곳에서, 어떤 사람은 북쪽과 서쪽에서, 어떤 사람은 시님 땅에서 오리라

See, they will come from afar--some from the north, some from the west, some from the region of Aswan."

사49:13 하늘이여 노래하라 땅이여 기뻐하라 산들이여 즐거이 노래하라 여호와께서 그의 백성을 위로하셨은즉 그의 고난 당한 자를 긍휼히 여기실 것임이라

Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.

사49:14 오직 시온이 이르기를 여호와께서 나를 버리시며 주께서 나를 잊으셨다 하였거니와

But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me."

사49:15 여인이 어찌 그 젖 먹는 자식을 잊겠으며 자기 태에서 난 아들을 긍휼히 여기지 않겠느냐 그들은 혹시 잊을지라도 나는 너를 잊지 아니할 것이라

"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

사49:16 내가 너를 내 손바닥에 새겼고 너의 성벽이 항상 내 앞에 있나니

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

사49:17 네 자녀들은 빨리 걸으며 너를 헐며 너를 황폐하게 하던 자들은 너를 떠나가리라

Your sons hasten back, and those who laid you waste depart from you.

사49:18 네 눈을 들어 사방을 보라 그들이 다 모여 네게로 오느니라 나 여호와가 이르노라 내가 나의 삶으로 맹세하노니 네가 반드시 그의 모든 무리를 장식처럼 몸에 차며 그것을 띠기를 신부처럼 할 것이라

Lift up your eyes and look around; all your sons gather and come to you. As surely as I live," declares the LORD, "you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride.

사49:19 이는 네 황폐하고 적막한 곳들과 네 파멸을 당하였던 땅이 이제는 주민이 많아 좁게 될 것이며 너를 삼켰던 자들이 멀리 떠날 것이니라

"Though you were ruined and made desolate and your land laid waste, now you will be too small for your people, and those who devoured you will be far away.

사49:20 자식을 잃었을 때에 낳은 자녀가 후일에 네 귀에 말하기를 이곳이 네게 좁으니 넓혀서 내가 거주하게 하라 하리니

The children born during your bereavement will yet say in your hearing, 'This place is too small for us; give us more space to live in.'

사49:21 그 때에 네가 네 마음에 이르기를 누가 나를 위하여 이들을 낳았는고 나는 자녀를 잃고 외로워졌으며 사로잡혀 유리하였거늘 이들을 누가 양육하였는고 나는 홀로 남았거늘 이들은 어디서 생겼는고 하리라

Then you will say in your heart, 'Who bore me these? I was bereaved and barren; I was exiled and rejected. Who brought these up? I was left all alone, but these--where have they come from?'"

사49:22 주 여호와가 이같이 이르노라 내가 뭇 나라를 향하여 나의 손을 들고 민족들을 향하여 나의 기치를 세울 것이라 그들이 네 아들들을 품에 안고 네 딸들을 어깨에 메고 올 것이며

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "See, I will beckon to the Gentiles, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders.

사49:23 왕들은 네 양부가 되며 왕비들은 네 유모가 될 것이며 그들이 얼굴을 땅에 대고 네게 절하고 네 발의 티끌을 핥을 것이니 네가 나를 여호와인 줄을 알리라 나를 바라는 자는 수치를 당하지 아니하리라

Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who hope in me will not be disappointed."

사49:24 용사가 빼앗은 것을 어떻게 도로 빼앗으며 승리자에게 사로잡힌 자를 어떻게 건져낼 수 있으랴

Can plunder be taken from warriors, or captives rescued from the fierce?

사49:25 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 용사의 포로도 빼앗을 것이요 두려운 자의 빼앗은 것도 건져낼 것이니 이는 내가 너를 대적하는 자를 대적하고 네 자녀를 내가 구원할 것임이라

But this is what the LORD says: "Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.

사49:26 내가 너를 억압하는 자들에게 자기의 살을 먹게 하며 새 술에 취함 같이 자기의 피에 취하게 하리니 모든 육체가 나 여호와는 네 구원자요 네 구속자요 야곱의 전능자인 줄 알리라

I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will be drunk on their own blood, as with wine. Then all mankind will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."
